Home Run: Run House Stars to Grace Book Festival
Fans of the MTV reality television series House Run, turning around the life family of so-called Reverend and musician Joseph "Reverend Run" Simmons, were treated to some choice literary treats of their favorite artist rap over the weekend. Last September 28, the 12th Annual Book Festival was held in Baltimore Mount Vernon Place, located on Block 600 Charles Street North. Planned five to nine o'clock in the evening, more than 150 authors were presented at the event, which took place during three days. Also included among these literary presences Reverend Run and Justine Simmons, who is both loving wife and co-star of reality TV.
Reverend Run is famous for being the co-founder and longtime member of hip-hop DMC, and he spoke of the inspirational book he authored, entitled Words of Wisdom: Daily Affirmations of Faith. On the other hand, his wife spoke on his own collection of writings, God, Can You Hear Me? The two pillars of hip-hop community were present for Saturday September 29th at three in the afternoon. Most open discussion readings and autograph signing took place at the Walters Art Museum.
Apart from the couple Simmons, many other authors also honored the festival their presence. A familiar face to fans of TV was Tim Gunn, the judge of the reality television network Bravo series Project Competition Runway. Gunn is also featured in her reality series very own, based on his book, Tim Gunn: A Guide for quality, taste and style. Like other authors, among them were Nikki Giovanni, Jacqueline Wilson, and David Matthews. Two words of wisdom Reverend Run and Justine Simmons' Can You Hear Me? are published by Harper Collins and are a source of inspiration volumes to help people establish a closer link with God.
