Baltimore Home For Rental

Why would a BGE deposit now?

At the end of March, I moved into the region Baltimore and opened an account with BGE electricity in my house rent. After a day or two to check their credit they told me I was good to go set up my account. Now, three months later (and no late payments), they sent me a letter saying: "We believe it is necessary to require a deposit in the amount of $ 465.00." What could have made them do this? Is this kind of blackmail based legal? And why Would it take three whole months to decide if it is based on my credit report? EDIT: I BGE just called and was told it was because I just opened a new account. Why the hell would they take three months for me that is beyond me, and why it is using a full two months (most of accommodation deposits are not even that much).

Perhaps the previous tenants left without paying their bill as a whole and they want to ensure that you do not do the same thing. You not be "punished" for something someone else did. Give the call and ask why you are required to pay the bond important.
